Ultimately, they were betrayed by one of the very humans they protected. According to that storyline, more than a thousand years ago, Goliath and his clan were the sworn protectors of a Scottish castle. The new ongoing series, which is authored by Gargoyles' co-creator Greg Weisman, with art by artist George Kambadais, is a continuation of the story as originally set out in the Disney Gargoyles animated series which ran for two seasons in the mid-1990s.
